Prior to each burn please trim your wick to about 1/4". To extend the life of your candle burn for a maximum of 4 hours at a time and trim the wick. This will result in a long lasting candle, reduces the occurrence of soot and the removal of any carbon that may be mushrooming on the end of the wick.
To extinguish your candle place a lid and cover the candle or dip the wick into the melted wax and then straighten the wick. This will stop the wick from smoking and will help with re-lighting later on.
Extreme fluctuations in ambient temperature can result in the candle sweating. This is normal, wipe off the excess moisture, or simply burn the candle.
On the first burn it is important to allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container. This should take approximately 1-3 hours. Failure to do so will often result in tunneling and this can reduce the lifespan of your candle.
If tunneling occurs set your oven to 175°F, and place candle in for about 5 minutes (Do not leave unattended) to allow the wax to level out. Remove any excess wax if necessary).
